Where I come from people make fun when they are taking their cherished drink that \u201cthis is time for one for the road\u201d. Let me make it simpler, after treacherous day of work, before you proceed home, you make a stopover for a drink with friends (one for the road). Many who have lavished this slogan have not been obedient to just taking one, but they have wined and drunk they whole pocket dry. In the process a lot of damage have taken place as a result of that slogan and today majority of deaths on our roads are facilitated by drink driving giving alcohol lead role in accidents, suicide, and crime. Does this ring a bell in your mind?
