Sharon Keller discovery of her Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer, is that true? The discovery of Breast Cancer moved from being a lump and uncomfortable to being a definite diagnosis of breast cancer sometime in September with a new reality facing me. How did I get to this place in my life? What now? Where do I go for treatment? What diet do I follow? This reality of breast cancer was an overwhelming whirlwind of information. The local oncologist and the surgeon wanted surgery, chemo, and then radiation and seemed to want it all withing a few days of diagnosis. I just could not accept a drastic surgery, a removal of two layers of lymph nodes, chemo and radiation without some research on breast cancer. I was overwhelmed with the sense of urgency. It seemed fear based to me so I had to take a deep breath and do some research. I also knew I had to get myself quiet with my Creator and the one who I needed to cling to more than any other time in my life. That research led me to find out how important IPT is in the treatment of cancer along with ozone treatment, IBV light, chelation, PolyMVA, chelation, glutathione, heat therapy and that led me tostart a search for answers from an alternative to traditional treatment. I called a lot of clinics with a lot of questions. I then called AWAREMED.I had also found out the benefits of a test called the Greek Test that tested your blood to see what would work for your cancer. I was so afraid of chemo because of already having Lyme disease, Hashimoto disease, and arthriits and a compromised immune system. Scared beyond belief and whirling in self doubt and still trying to seek God for direction I had to make decisions. I decided on Awaremed when Dr. Akoury offered all of the treatments I had researched and knew I needed to get well. I will never forget the peace that came over me with that phone call. I will never forget this journey. Breast cancer throws you as a novice into an arena where you become a researcher to fight for your health.
Sharon Keller Journey accepting Breast Cancer, Found Dr. Dalal Akoury
The first phone call to Awaremed and Dr. Akoury was met with such compassion and caring. Seina, the office manager answered all of my questions and assured me of the quality of care that was offered by Dr. Akoury. Her heart is for her patients. The decision to travel out of state for integrated oncology treatments was solidified when Dr. Akoury called me from the airport on her way to speak overseas. Her kindness and compassion is what I remembered from that phone call. Of course – Hurricane Matthhew had other plans and I had to postpone the trip by a week. “Breast cancer was something to be accepted” and “you will always live with cancer and learn how to do that” were statements I heard in the first phone calls. That was something I did not understand and had never heard before so I started off to Myrtle Beach and Awaremed. Scared and broken is how I describe my start of this journey. I wanted to learn also and Dr. Akoury and Awaremed seemed to be a place for me. Integrative cancer treatment has the best of both worlds…. The hard part is that insurance companies do not cover the procedures. I sure hope that can change at some point very soon.
